First Chiropractic Consultation (Adults)
What to Expect on Your First Visit
Your first appointment at Pura Vida Chiropractic is designed to get a complete picture of your health status and provide the right care from the start. This session will consist of the following steps:
Intake interview
We discuss your medical history, current complaints and health goals so that we understand what is going on.
Chiropractic Explanation
You will receive a brief explanation of what chiropractic entails, what you can expect from the treatments and how we work.
Posture analysis (including photo)
We take a posture photo and analyze your posture to gain visual insight into tension patterns and alignment.
Physical examination
We perform various tests to assess your range of motion, spine and nervous system, including:
- Range of motion
- Orthopedic testing
- Neurological tests (if applicable)
First chiropractic adjustment
If there are no medical objections, you will receive your first correction during this consultation. Discover which treatment techniques we use in our practice - view them here.
Costs: €82 , to be paid on the day of the appointment. You will receive an invoice by email that you can submit to your health insurer. If necessary, we will refer you for additional research or to another healthcare specialist.
Second Chiropractic Consultation (Report of Findings)
Your Personal Care Plan - Insight, Understanding and a Clear Start
During your second visit, we will take the time to share our findings with you and clearly map out your health journey. This is the moment when everything comes together and you gain more insight into your body and the underlying cause of your complaints.
Explanation of the findings
We will discuss the results of your intake, posture analysis and physical examination. You will receive a clear explanation of how your posture, movement patterns and possible blockages affect your health.
You will receive a personal chiropractic booklet
This booklet contains visual explanations of your posture analysis, information about the functioning of your nervous system and practical health advice. This way you know exactly what is going on, and how you can actively contribute to your recovery. Everything to give you the best possible start: with all the chances on your side to get better.
A tailor-made care plan
Together we will create a concrete treatment plan that is tailored to your goals and lifestyle. We will explain what you can expect in terms of the number of treatments, the structure of care and how we work together on sustainable results.

At Pura Vida Chiropractic your care journey is about more than just pain relief, it is designed to restore balance, support healing and help you thrive long term. We always work with 6 session packages so we can clearly track your progress and provide the right intensity at the right time.
An important part of your care plan is the distribution of appointments. Closer sessions often result in more intensive and efficient progress, especially in the beginning. As you progress, we often choose to spread out your appointments to support structural improvements in posture, sleep, digestion and energy, among other things.
Your journey consists of three important phases:
Recovery Phase – Feeling Better
In this phase, the focus is on reducing pain, tension and discomfort. Through regular corrections, we help calm the nervous system and restore mobility, so you can feel better quickly.
Stabilization Phase – Staying Better
Once the symptoms subside, we will work more deeply on correcting the underlying causes and strengthening your posture. This phase is essential to prevent relapse and build lasting stability.
Wellness phase – Better living
When your body is in balance, we move to maintenance care. Regular corrections help maintain your progress, support your energy, and keep your nervous system in tip-top shape — so you can live life to the fullest.

Regular chiropractic treatment (adjustment)
Step by Step: How Regular Chiropractic Care Contributes to True Healing
During a regular chiropractic adjustment, we look at how your body has responded to previous treatments and where the priority lies at that moment. We start with a brief evaluation of your spine, posture and neurological tension, followed by a targeted adjustment that helps restore freedom of movement, relieve tension and allow the nervous system to function optimally.
To achieve real, lasting changes (especially in the beginning) it is important to be treated regularly. By correcting repeatedly we give the body the chance to release old tension patterns, improve blood flow and nerve conduction, and learn new movement patterns. This process takes time and repetition, just as you make gradual progress with training or rehabilitation.
Every six treatments we perform an interim evaluation to measure the progress we have made and to adjust the treatment plan where necessary. This way we keep the trajectory goal-oriented and tailored to your recovery.

We provide gentle, safe chiropractic care specifically for babies and children.
Your child's first visit to Pura Vida Chiropractic is carefully structured to provide a complete picture of his or her health, development and specific needs.
Intake interview with the parent(s)
We discuss medical history, pregnancy and delivery, previous complaints, daily routines such as sleep, nutrition and behavior.
Chiropractic for Children Explained
We explain what you can expect and how our techniques are gentle, safe and adapted to the age of your child.
Observation and posture analysis
We look at how your child moves, sits, stands or crawls, depending on age (if necessary, we take a posture photo).
Physical examination
We assess the musculoskeletal system and nervous system using playful and gentle techniques; we look at freedom of movement, reflexes and coordination, among other things.
First correction (if applicable)
If there are no medical objections, we perform a gentle correction using mild pressure techniques, tailored to the age of your child.
Chiropractic care for children is safe, natural and helps the body to develop optimally – it can help with postpartum tension, posture problems, sleep problems, motor milestones and stimulus processing, among other things.

At Pura Vida Chiropractie, we make it easy to continue your care journey with flexible and cost-saving options. Whether you prefer to pay per session or take advantage of a treatment package you are in control. When you choose a package, it is automatically saved in our system. You don’t have to keep track of anything; everything is taken care of for you, so you can focus on your health.
Option A – Treatment package (6 sessions)
Ideal if you follow a care plan or want to save on your regular treatments:
Includes chiropractic adjustment with every appointment
- 6 sessions for €342 (€57/session)
- No expiration date – use the sessions whenever it suits you
- Refund possible for unused session
This option offers financial benefits as well as convenience and continuity in your care process.
Option B – Single Appointment

Chiropractic Care & Reimbursement by the Health Insurance Company
You pay the costs of your treatment on the day of the appointment in our practice. After the session you will receive an invoice by e-mail, which you can easily submit to your health insurer. Most Dutch health insurers (partially) reimburse chiropractic care from the supplementary insurance. A referral from your GP is not required for this. The exact reimbursement depends on your policy. If you have any questions, please contact your health insurer for more clarity.

Cancellation Policy
Are you unexpectedly unable to attend your appointment? Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. This way we can offer the freed up time to someone else.
For cancellations less than 24 hours in advance or in case of no-show, we will charge a no-show fee of €35.
Healing is not linear – healing takes time.
Whether it is physical, mental or emotional recovery, healing never follows a straight, predictable path. It is a complex process that is influenced by many factors and can involve both progress and setbacks.
It is important to be patient, committed, and gentle with ourselves during the healing process and recognize that progress is not always linear.
Patience is key . It takes time to address the root causes of our pain and patterns and to make lasting changes that promote long-term healing. We have had our entire lives to develop these habits, so we must be patient in letting them go.
As we heal, our priorities evolve. We gain clarity and insight into what is truly important in our lives and become more attuned to our inner needs and values. This can lead us to focus more on self-care, healthy relationships, personal growth, and a sense of purpose and meaning, while letting go of old patterns, beliefs, and commitments that no longer serve us.
